Cockburn Healthy Schools Program
The Cockburn Health Schools Program was initiated in 2017 to address rising overweight and obesity in school-aged children.
The Cockburn Healthy Schools Program was established when Cockburn Integrated Health identified gaps at a community level in access to prevention services for overweight and obesity in school aged children. The program was initiated in late 2017 assisting schools with health and lifestyle related prevention initiatives and to further improve connections to existing services.
Each year, five primary schools within the City of Cockburn are selected to receive free nutrition education through the program.
