This fortnight, we are shining the spotlight on Dry July a campaign aimed at challenging social drinkers to change their habits for a month and make some healthy lifestyle changes. Whether it is to raise funds for people affected by cancer or to help improve sleep, improve energy, manage your weight or save some money, Dry July has many other benefits.
Coming up, we are excited to share some programs with you, including these brand-new programs:
- Prime Time Movers
- 4-week nutrition and cooking workshop series
- Move It Mondays (organised by City of Cockburn)
- Toner Tuesdays (organised by City of Cockburn)
To stay connected to our programs, you will need to attend your free health consult every 2 months.

Go Dry this July and raise funds for people affected by cancer
In 2008, three mates wanted to take a break from drinking alcohol for the month of July, calling it their 'Dry July'. To motivate their abstinence, Brett, Kenny and Phil decided to raise money for Cancer. With a goal to raise $3000 to buy a new TV for their local hospital, they ended up raising over $250,000.
Every year from then thousands of Australians have taken and continue to take on Dry July to raise money for Cancer. The money raised goes directly to supporting over 40 cancer support organisations.
Beyond the fundraising, abstaining from alcohol has several benefits including:
- Helping individuals affected by cancer
- Sleep better
- Weight loss
- More energy
- Increased mental health and wellbeing
The 2026 Dry July will support over 40 cancer support organisations Australia wide, including the 3 Major Beneficiaries:
